Back to school!

As promised: here is the newest pattern for girls for the upcoming new school year!

I already mentioned a tip of the veil in my post about the “Women Bell Sleeve Dress” and the “Sweetie Dress” by Ellie & Mac, but now the pattern has finally released: “Girl’s School Cool Tunic and Dress”

It comes, as the name says it, in tunic and dress length. You can also opt for short sleeves, long sleeves or flutter sleeves. There is a little bit of ‘gathering’ in the sleeves, which gives it a little volume.

But the most beautiful feature of this doily is without doubt the full circle skirt, which creates a beautiful ‘twirl factor’! And now tell me: which girl does not like twirling dresses?

Zoals eerder al beloofd: hier is het nieuwste patroon voor meisjes met het oog op het nieuwe schooljaar!
Ik lichtte al een tip van de sluier op in mijn post over de “Women Bell Sleeve Dress” en de “Sweetie Dress” van Ellie&Mac, maar nu is het patroon gereleased: “Girl’s School Cool Tunic and Dress”

Het beschikt, zoals de naam het zegt, over tuniek en jurk-lengte. Je kan ook kiezen voor korte mouwen, lange mouwen of fladdermouwtjes. In de mouwaanzet is er een beetje rimpeling, wat het een beetje volume geeft (maar niet te veel!).
Maar het mooiste kenmerk van dit kleedje is zonder meer de volle cirkelrok, wat voor een prachtige ‘twirlfactor’ zorgt! En zeg nu zelf: welk meisje houdt niet van draaikleedjes?!

 

On top of that, it comes together in no time! The sewing itself does not take more than half an hour!

And because girls often love dolls, this pattern has a nice extra, because it comes with a free pattern to make the dolls of your little girl the exact same dress! Bet they find that fantastic!

I made dresses for myself and my girls, all patterns from Ellie & Mac, and they fit perfectly together! I chose a fabric with butterflies for each of us, but always in a different color. So we have unique dresses, and still fit together!

Daar bovenop komt dat het in geen tijd in elkaar zit! Het naaien op zich kost niet meer dan een half uur!

En omdat meisjes ook vaak van poppen houden, heeft dit patroon nog een leuke extra, want je kan er gratis een patroontje bijkrijgen om de poppen van jouw kleine meid net hetzelfde kleedje te maken! Wedden dat ze dat super vindt!
Ik maakte kleedjes voor zowel mijzelf als mijn meisjes, allemaal patroontjes van Ellie&Mac, en ze passen perfect samen!
Ik koos voor een stofje met vlinders voor elk van ons, maar telkens wel in een ander kleurtje. Zo zijn we uniek, en passen we toch samen!

For the first version of the “School Cool Dress” I went for the long sleeves. The twirl is delicious and the dress can still be worn when it gets colder outside!

For Hanne I made a size 5. Usually I take in her dresses at the waist, but this time I did not make any adjustments, so a t-shirt can be worn underneath when temperatures go down.

Voor de “School Cool Dress” ging ik voor mijn eerste versie voor de lange mouwen. Het draait heerlijk en kan ook in de herfst nog lange tijd gedragen worden zo!
Ik maakte voor Hanne maatje 5 jaar. Gewoonlijk neem ik wat in in de taille, maar deze keer deed ik geen aanpassingen, zodat er in de herfst eventueel nog een t-shirt onder kan op koudere dagen.

My second version has flutter sleeves, so that it can be worn from the start of the new school year, when it is still warm enough.

She loves this dress even more because of the flutter sleeves, and she wore it until it was time for laundry … 🙂

Mijn tweede versie is er eentje met fladdermouwtjes, zodat het vanaf het begin van het nieuwe schooljaar dienst kan doen, wanneer het nog warm genoeg is.
Dit kleedje van zo nog leuker dan dat met lange mouwen, en droeg ze tot het in de was moest… 🙂
