Lucky Girl

My first test for Ellie&Mac in 2019 🙂
Pretty sure it won’t be my last!

I tested the Lucky Girl Top. Although I yearn for snow and winter, this pattern made me dream of spring! The sleeves are the most special feature of this top, and scream for some sunbeams …

I made Size S, graded to M in the hips-area. My first one, I had to make with banded sleeves, because I did not have enough of the fabric I was using to cut out the sleeve ties.

Of course, I did make a second one, with the sleeve-ties. I choose a plain light blue knit fabric to construct the bodice with, but used stretch-lace (bought at the Driessen-webshop) for the sleeves. This raglan-shirt is perfect for colourblocking or mixing fabrics!

To construct the sleeves, you are obligated to use your sewing machine. Once the sleeves are done, the rest can be put together using a serger/overlock. You finish your seam in your preferred method.

This top really breathes spring/summer. So I had no other option than taking pictures inside, because it was freezing outside and we had just received our first snow… Quite the opposite of spring…

I like the fact it keeps your shoulders covered, but opens up at the upper arm. That way it is wearable mid-season, when the mornings and evenings are still a bit chilly, but the sun rules at noon.

The pattern is available for $3.85 (about €3,5) until Sunday.
