In mijn vorige blogpost stelde ik de nieuwste release van Annelaine Patterns voor: de Tangerine jurk (en een klein vogeltje fluisterde me toe dat er ook een versie voor dames komt!)
In my previous blog post I presented the latest release of Annelaine Patterns: the Tangerine dress (and a little bird whispered to me that there will also be a version for ladies!)
Nu had ik nog wat overschot van de stof met de walvissen, maar niet voldoende om nog een volledige jurk uit te krijgen. Ik vond in mijn stoffenvoorraad nog een matchende uni-tricot, en plots borrelde het idee in me op om te gaan combineren met het Tammy-patroon van Annelaine Patterns. Want hoe tof zou het niet zijn om de eye-catchers van beide kleedjes te gaan combineren? Zo gezegd, zo gedaan: ik nam het lijfje van de Tammy met de mooie diep uitgesneden rug en kruisende bandjes over in de uni-tricot, en het rokdeel met die knappe geschulpte zoom van de Tangerine van het walvis-stofje.
Now I still had some surplus fabric with the whales, but not enough to get a full dress out off it. I found another matching jersey in my fabric stock, and suddenly the idea came to me to combine it with the Tammy pattern from Annelaine Patterns. Because how cool would it be to combine the eye-catchers of both dresses? No sooner said than done: I cut out the bodice of the Tammy with the beautiful deep-cut back and crossing straps in the plain knit, and the skirt part with that handsome scalloped hem of the Tangerine in the whales fabric.
Veel aanpassingen hoefde ik niet te doen!
Ik korte het lijfje van de Tammy zo’n cm of twee in, zodat het net zo lang was als de patroondelen voor het lijfje van de Tangerine.
En verder… niks!
I didn’t have to make many adjustments!
I cut the bodice of the Tammy an inch or so shorter, so that it was just as long as the pattern parts for the bodice for the Tangerine.
And further more … nothing!
Ik spelde het rokdeel en lijfje op deze vier punten aan elkaar vast.
Tijdens het locken van de naad rok ik het bovenlijfje iets uit, zodat alles netjes aan elkaar paste. Even strijken, en tadaa… Klaar!
On the photo you notice that the skirt part is slightly wider than the bodice. I first sewed the body. When putting the drss together I divided both the bottom of the bodice and the skirt part into four parts (the hems on the side, center front and center back).
I pinned the skirt part and bodice together on these four points.
While locking the seam, I stretched the bodice slightly so that everything fits neatly together. Ironing, and tadaa … Ready!
And this way my two little ladies can twin! The same dress, and actually not the same dress at all!
