Cape Cod Swimsuit

Deze badpakken naaide ik reeds in januari tijdens het Stikking-together naaiweekend, maar ik vond pas nu de tijd om foto’s te nemen…

I already sewed these bathing suits back in January during the Stikking-together sewing weekend, but I only now found the time to take pictures …

Ik gebruikte het Cape Cod patroon van Ellie&Mac. Dat patroon kocht ik aan om een ‘pinspiratie’ te verwezenlijken voor mezelf. Die vind je hier terug. Ik maakte toen een ‘mash-up’ met de neklijn van Cape cod, voor de Breezy-jurk.

I used Ellie & Mac’s Cape Cod pattern. I bought that pattern to achieve a ‘pinspiration’ for myself. You can find it here. I then mashed up the Cape cod neckline with the Breezy dress.

Maar de meisjes waren aan een nieuw badpak toe, dus ging ik nu met het patroon voor hen aan de slag. Geen hacks, geen mash-ups, gewoon het patroon zoals het is.
Dit is een halter-neklijn, waarbij je de bandjes strikt in de nek. Daardoor krijg je een mooie open rug, terwijl de voorkant mooi gesloten is. Toch wordt hier in de voorkant wat openheid gecreëerd met een mooi detail in de halslijn.

But my girls needed a new bathing suit, so I started working on the pattern for them now. No hacks, no mash-ups, just the pattern as it is.
This is a halter neckline, where you tie the straps in the neck. This gives you a nice open back, while the front is nicely closed. Yet here in the front some openness is created with a nice keyhole detail in the neckline. You can make romper, dress, or top and shorts cover up to keep your little one looking stylish on the way to the water!
